Project Goal

The research objective of this project is to perform research and prototyping work to create innovative learning materials and tools for the ‘Dynamics’ course using a 3D haptic-augmented virtual environment. We will investigate the efficacy of such materials in supplementing the fundamental engineering courses.

The problem being addressed by this proposal is the difficulty that students have in understanding the abstract concepts in the course of ‘Dynamics’, and that teachers have in effectively conveying these concepts. The multi-modal computer-mediated learning materials can deliver knowledge to the undergraduate students based on the “Feeling is Believing” concept.
